While Abu Dhabi is a cosmopolitan city and has a somewhat liberal atmosphere, it is still advisable that visitors respect local culture and norms and wear more conservative clothing, as well as customs regarding interactions between men and women. Unlike in Western countries, in the UAE the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday.
