At a time when a number of major Latin American economies, including Brazil and Venezuela, are heading toward recession, Mexico’s economy stands out in the region for its resilience. The country is expected to maintain a solid economic performance in 2015 and beyond, with the IMF estimating GDP growth of 3% and 3.3% in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Higher budget allocations for infrastructure and technology are set to create new opportunities for Myanmar’s private health care sector, including international health service providers and suppliers, as the country works to address gaps in staffing and facilities. 

While falling oil revenues have prompted plans to scale back or reschedule some of Saudi Arabia’s programmes, the government has signalled that health projects will remain largely protected.

 

Kuwait’s overall development strategy is contained in a government plan known as Kuwait Vision 2035. Health care forms a big part of Vision 2035, with the government placing belief in the relationship between a healthy economy and a healthy workforce.

 

Health care needs in Kuwait are evolving rapidly in line with its changing economic and population profile. The government is looking to target resources more appropriately, and the private sector looks set to take on a greater role in health care provision.
