Au cours des dix années qui ont suivi le lancement, en 2003, d’un grand chantier de réformes du système éducatif algérien, le pays a mis en œuvre de nombreuses initiatives visant à améliorer les programmes et l’enseignement, récoltant toutefois, bien souvent, des résultats mitigés. Afin de garantir que les réformes existantes produisent l’effet escompté sur le secteur, le Ministre algérien de l’Éducation Nationale a fait appel à une variété d’acteurs concernés pour dresser le bilan des progrès effectués par les écoles du pays depuis 2003 ainsi qu’identifier les défis qui restent à surmonter.
Education reforms are being seen as key in trying to ensure that economic growth embraces a reduction in South Africa’s disparity and unemployment. Poor schooling remains one of the weak links in the economy, despite government efforts to address the problem by allocating the largest share of funds to education in both this and last year’s budget.

How can more cooperation between public and private academic institutions be encouraged?

Economic development has allowed Morocco to start competing in new industries and innovative sectors, driven by the country’s Industrial Emergence Plan. However, it has also exposed a lack of adequate qualified human resources in certain essential areas.

New schools are being built to facilitate access to primary education in all regions of the country and continue to improve the country’s schooling levels in all regions.

Located in the westernmost region of North Africa, Morocco has an impressively diversified economy and in recent years has benefited from steady growth. The country has strong trade links with the EU and has a young population – with the median age of its roughly 32m people at 27.3 years – which in turn provides the country with a large supply of available and comparatively skilled labour.
