Qatar is placing significant focus on preventative health care as part of its new five-year plan for the sector, with efforts to improve the general health of the population and reduce the cost of service provision set to offer increased opportunities for private sector investment.
Healthy lifestyle promotion will be a key component of Qatar’s new six-year health strategy, as it takes proactive measures to reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases and lighten the burden of tertiary care.
Health was one of the big winners in Qatar’s 2016 budget, at a time when many other areas of the economy saw spending reined in due to lower energy revenues.
