Though Peru’s economic growth registered a slowdown in 2014 - to an estimated 3.1% according to the central bank compared to rates of between 5% and 9% for much of the past decade - the mining-led economy is expected to regain momentum in 2015 as diversification efforts continue and government measures to stimulate investment take effect.

A major contract has been awarded in Trinidad & Tobago, which will act as a roadmap for the exploitation of gas reserves in deeper waters and boost output over the next 10 years. The award comes amid concern that existing reserves are dwindling and government revenue from its key export commodity is declining. 

The first round of auctions to award important works of oil exploration and production in Mexico will begin early next year, with 169 blocks covering an area of ​​28,500 square kilometers to tender as a result of extensive reforms introduced last year to open industries electricity and gas to private investment.
