Gabon uses the Central African franc (CFA) as its currency. This is pegged to the euro at a fixed rate of €1:CFA655.957. Euros can be exchanged at banks and ATMs can be found sporadically around Libreville, most easily at the airport and the city centre.

Most visitors must obtain a visa in advance of travel to Gabon, a process that can be lengthy. Business visas require an invitation from a Gabon-based entity and are available for periods of two weeks, 30 days, 90 days or for longer durations of up to five years.
