After emerging as one of the GCC's most vibrant and diversified economies in the 1990s and early 2000s thanks in large part to a dynamic financial services sector, Bahrain faced headwinds in the form of the 2008 financial crisis and the Arab Spring, before contending with the coronavirus pandemic. In this interview with CNN's Marketplace Middle East, Jana Treeck, OBG's Managing Director for the Middle East, explains how the country mitigated those challenges, and why it remains an attractive destination for business and investment.
