How have entrepreneurs within Oman’s ICT sector responded to the Covid-19 crisis so far?

Oman acted quickly to limit the spread of the virus. A range of measures were implemented, including travel restrictions on international flights and internal public transportation services, the closure of all schools, universities, malls and non-essential shops, and the suspension of prayers at mosques.

As of April 12, the number of recorded Covid-19 cases in Oman stood at 599, with four fatalities and 109 recoveries.

A downturn in oil revenue on the back of production cuts by the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries contributed to a difficult year for Oman in 2019, as the government continued with efforts to balance the budget and diversify the economy.
