The Covid-19 pandemic has underscored the need for companies in Mexico and further afield to invest in digital processes and tools to increase their competitiveness and respond to market demands more effectively. However, this focus on new technologies also translates into greater exposure to risk. As a result, cybersecurity is now a growing strategic priority for companies to preserve the security of their operations, reputation and finances. To strengthen their technology risk management, companies in Mexico must overcome knowledge gaps, under investment in cybersecurity and human capital shortages. However, the significant progress Mexico has achieved in cybersecurity knowledge, training and skills development in recent years suggests it is moving in a positive direction.
